Janie is a neuropsychologist specializing in pediatrics. She developed her expertise through clinical experience in hospital settings, notably at the Marie-Enfant Rehabilitation Center (CHU Sainte-Justine) and at the Integrated Outpatient Child Psychiatry Service of the Albert-Prévost Mental Health Hospital.
Janie works with children and adolescents who present a variety of cognitive difficulties, which may be associated with neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, TS, learning disorders, etc.) or with concurrent behavioral, affective, or relational issues. She supports young people and their families through comprehensive neuropsychological assessments aimed at documenting the different areas of functioning – cognitive, behavioral, social, and academic – in order to provide a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the young person's functioning and to explain the challenges encountered in daily life.
In her practice, Janie favors a caring, respectful approach that is adapted to each young person's development. She combines the use of standardized tools with playful and interactive moments, thereby promoting the establishment of a trusting relationship and a better understanding of the difficulties experienced by the young person. She also places particular importance on feedback sessions, which she personalizes for each young person and their family, in order to help them better understand their functioning, strengths, and weaknesses, and to guide them toward appropriate recommendations.
